[1] The General Election was held on 24 November in Bahrain, a second round of election will be conducted in some of the constituencies in December 2018.
[2] The Shura Council has been abolished by the 2014 constitution of Egypt.
[3] On 29 April 2016, a second round of elections were held to fill 69 parliamentary seats for which no clear winner emerged.
[4] The general election never took place. It is postponed to 2019.
[5] The election was held on 23 November 2014, since there was no candidate with majority during the first round of voting, a second round took place on 21 December 2014.
Minakshi Sardar has received her Ph. D. from the Centre for West Asian Studies, School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi. Her doctoral thesis was on the Process of Normalization of Israel-Vatican Relations, 1948-1993. She did her M Phil from the same centre on Israel’s Responses to Hostage Taking. Her area of interest focuses Middle East politics, Arab-Israeli Conflict, Christianity, security issues, and conflict resolutions. She has presented at several conferences and seminars on the region. She has been preparing China Watch (since August 2015), Election Watch (since July 2017) for MEI. She is an Editorial Assistant of the Journal of Indo-Judaic Studies since 2020.
