Association of Middle East Studies is a membership-based forum and came into existence on 11 September 2013. It has 19 founding members and nine honorary members. It is headed by Com. C. Uday Bhaskar as its President. Its aim is

• To conduct and encourage research, training, outreach programme and publications regarding the Middle East
• To facilitate comprehensive and professional understanding of the Middle East
• To create an academic network amongst scholars on the Middle East
• To establish academic collaboration with other institutions within and outside India
• To run educational institutions and publish books, journals, magazines etc.
