The Senate passed the 2012 draft elections law as amended by the Lower House. Under the new law the Lower House will consist of 140 seats, of which 108 seats will be allocated for the 45 constituencies of the Kingdom’s 12 governorates and the three badia regions and 15 seats for the women’s quota. In addition there will be 17 seats at the national level.
